Divide 64 into 2 parts such that 1 part is 3 times the other

first part= x
second part= 3x

sum=64
X +3x = 64
4x=64
x=64/4
x=16.

first part = 16
second part = 3x =3 *16 = 48.

Then the second part will be=3x
It is clear from the above statement that first and second part will add to became 64
So, x+3x=64
4x=64
x=64/4
x=16
So,first number will be 16 and other number will be 3x=48.
