Let 8 mins be 8 * 60 = 480 Secs

now the ratio 3 : 13

3  = 3x and 13 = 13 x

now 13 x + 3 x = 480 secs

16x = 480 secs

therefore x = 30 secs

3x = 90 secs and 13 x = 390 secs
