Algebra,
We have
R.S. 3000,
have to divide in three parts in such way that one third of the 1st part, one fifth of 2nd part and one seventh of 3rd part be equal.
Let the three parts be x, y and z respectively.
A.T.Q.
1/3 × x = 1/5 × y = 1/7 × z
Now,
1/3 × x = 1/5 × y and 1/3 × x = 1/7 × z
or, 5/3 × x = y or, 7/3 × x = z
So, x + y + z = 3000
or, x + 5/3x + 7/3x = 3000
or, (3x + 5x + 7x)/3 = 3000
or, 15x = 9000
or, x = 9000/15
or, x = 600
Therefore y = 5/3 × 600
=1000
and z = 7/3 × 600
= 1400
Let's have a quick cheak,
x + y + z
= 600 + 1000 + 1400
= 3000
That's it
