The answer is 0.38

GIVEN

divide the sum of -13/15 and 12/7 by the product of -31/7 and-1/2

TO FIND

The answer of the divison of the given entities

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

First we will add -13/15 and 12/7

 -  \frac{ 13}{15}  +  \frac{12}{7}

We will convert the given unlike fractions into like fractions

Multiplying 7 by the first fraction and 15 by the second fraction.

 -  \frac{13 \times 7}{15 \times 7}  +  \frac{12 \times15 }{7 \times 15}

 =  \frac{ - 91}{105}  +  \frac{180}{105}

We know that adding a minus entity to positive entity results in subtraction

Therefore,

Sum = 89/105

We have to find the product of -31/7 and -1/2

 \frac{ - 31}{7}  \times  -  \frac{1}{2}

Product = 31/14

Division = Addition/product

Therefore,

= 89/105 ÷ 31/14

To divide fractions the reciprocal of the divisor is multiplied by the dividend.

Therefore,

Dividing 89/105 by 31/14

 \frac{89}{105}  \times  \frac{14}{31}

= 1246/3255

= 0.38

Hence, The answer is 0.38
