Acc. to me,

this is your reaction,

Cl2  +  2br-   --->   br2  +   2cl-

First of all you must know to calculate oxidation no.(Read from book)

→cl2,br2--(in molecular state)--ON(oxidation no.) is =0

→Br-=-1 ---here 2br- so -1*2=-2

→Cl-=-1 ---here 2cl- so -1*2=-2

Write ON(oxidation no.)

 0         -2               0           -2      <---- ON

Cl2  +  2br-   --->   br2  +   2cl-      <-----Reaction

Then you know here

1.when ON decreases then Reduction occur

2.when ON increases then oxidation occur

Here in Chlorine

0            -2

cl2   ----->  2cl-

you see ON decreases from 0 to -2 means reduction so

Reduction reaction is

cl2  ----->   2cl-

Now in Bromine

-2           0

2br-  ---->  br2

you see ON increases from -2 to 0 means oxidation occur so Oxidation reaction is

2br-   ---->  br2

I hope it helps
