divide : (x^6 - y^6) by (x - y)​

Answer:

(x^{6} - y^{6}) ÷ ( x - y)

(There is no law for the subtraction of exponents so, we divide the like terms)

In the 2nd bracket, x & y do not have an exponent, so we can consider as x^{1} and y^{1}.

When bases are equal, we subtract powers.

(x^{6-1}) - (y^{6-1})

= x^{5}  - y^{5}
