x²-8x+15
factories it
x²-5x-3x+15
x(x-5)-3(x-5)
(x-5)(x-3)

now divide by (x-3)

(x-5)(x-3)/(x-3)

(x-3) will cancel out (x-3)

ans=(x-5)

Hi !

See the answer...

We have to divide x²-8x+15 by x-3...

Let's proceed.......

                       x -5
          x-3 )  x² - 8x + 15
                   x² - 3x
                  -     +
              ---------------
                       -5x +15
                       -5x + 15
                      +     -
                  -----------------
                           0

Hence, x²-8x+15 ÷ x-3 = x - 5.

Let us check the answer...........

We know
p (x) = g(x) X q (x) + r(x).               ............. (i)

Here, r is 0.

g (x) = x -3
q (x) = x-5,  and
p (x) = x²-8x+15

So, putting values in eq. (i)............

x²-8x+15 = (x-3) (x-5) + 0
Let us solve RHS.......

(x-3) (x-5)
= x (x-5) -3(x-5)
= x² - 5x - 3x - 15
= x²-8x+15

As, LHS=RHS..............
So it is correct.........

Hope it helps.....
