= \frac{ {x}^{3 }  + 1}{x - 1}

= \frac{ {x}^{3} +  {1}^{3}  }{x - 1}

= \frac{(x - 1)( {x}^{2} + xy +  {1}^{2})  }{(x - 1)}

= {x}^{2}  + xy + 1
