DIWALI IS A FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS AND CRACKERS.IT IS RARE FESTIVAL WHICH AIMS AT PROVIDING SPIRITUAL ENLIGHTENMENT TO PEOPLE THROUGH ENTERTAINMENT.IT IS SAID THAT ON THIS DAY LORD RAMA RETURNED TO AYODHYA AFTER HIS VICTORY OVER THE EVIL RAVANA.
IT IS ALSO WIDELY BELIEVED THAT THIS DAY IS A FAVORITE OF GODDESS LAKSHMI .SHE DISLIKES DARKNESS AND DIRTY PLACES . THIS DAY ALL DIRT AND DUST ARE REMOVED.ALL HOUSES AND SHOPS ARE CLEANED .ON THIS OCCASION ALL FAMILY WEAR NEW CLOTHES, EAT SWEETS AND BURN CRACKERS .DAZZLING LIGHTS AND TERRIFIC EXPLOSIVES EXHILARATE ALL. EACH  HOUSE IS DECORATED WITH LIGHTS ,FLOWERS..ETC.THIS IS A SOLEMN OCCASION FOR HINDUS .WE SHOULD BE CAREFUL NOT TO TURN THE FESTIVAL OF LIGHT TO AN OCCASION TO LAMENT.

Answer:

Diwali

Everything's ready to greet the new year.

Everything's bright with light.

Everyone's dressed up and full of joy.

It's Diwali tonight.

We've lit the lamps to show the way

Up to our front door.

We've sprinkled coloured powders to make

Pictures on the floor.

We've given each other gifts of sweets.

There's lot of delicious things to eat.

Everything's ready to greet the new year.

Everything's bright with light.

Everyone's dressed up and full of joy.

It's Diwali tonight.
