Answer

DNA replication takes place in S phase of cell cycle.

In the S phase

\implies2C = 4C

\implies2N = 2N

where

\longrightarrow2C no. of DNA.

\longrightarrow2N no. of chromosome.

Interphase -

\impliesIt is a complex of changes that occur in a newly formed cell before it is able to divide.

\impliesIt involves replication of DNA and synthesis of nuclear proteins and duplication of centrioles.

\impliesSynthesis of energy rich components also takes place.

It occurs in three stages -

i) G_1( First Gap Phase ) \longrightarrow In this phase the cell increases in size and synthesis of RNA, carbohydrates, proteins and lipids occur.

ii) S (synthesis phase) \longrightarrow This is DNA replication, centriole replication phase

iii) G_2( Second Gap Phase )\longrightarrow In this, DNA repair and synthesis of RNA ,spindle fibres (tublin) and duplication of cell organelle takes place.

Thanks
