It is also known as atomic transition, quantum jump, or quantum leap. Electrontransitions cause the emission or absorption of electromagnetic radiation in the form of quantized units called photons. Their statistics are Poissonian, and the time between jumps is exponentially distributed.

The difference in all light and radiation is due to the rotational velocity or kinetic energy of the mono-charge constituents. The higher the rotational velocity, giving it higher rotational and overall (linear and rotational ) KE, the higher its frequency and shorter its wavelength (distance covered during one constituent rotation).
