do all worms produce silk fibre? If not, why?


sumudha: No all worms cannot produce silk because like in humans every human will not have the ability to reproduce due to some reasons,so they also cannot produce silk due to some other reasons

No, only silkworms produce silk fibre because they are the only insects that spin a cocoon made of silk to evolve.

All worms will not produce silk.  It can be made only by silkworm.  The silk is a natural protein fiber that is woven to form as a cocoon.  The varieties that we get in silk are from different varieties of silkworm.  The different varieties are Mulberry Silk produced by Bombyx Mori; Tussah silkworms; Mussels etc.
