total cp=12×9=108rs
broken egg=1/2
rest egg=12-1/2
=23/2
total sp=12×23/2
=138rs
gain=138-108
=30rs
gain%=30×100/108
=250/9%

given,
 per dozen = 9 rupees
∴ 12 dozen= 108 rupees = CP
And one and half dozen were broken
∴ remaining eggs = 12-3/2=21/2 dozens
rest eggs sold at 12 rupees per dozen
∴ SP=(21/2)*12 =126
here SP is more than CP
∴ gain=SP-CP
          =126-108
          =18 rupees
and gain%=(gain/CP)*100
                 =(18/108)*100
                 =16%
