Gymnosperms and angiosperms form two kinds of spores: microspores, which give rise to male gametophytes, and megaspores, which produce female gametophytes.

Yeah, angiosperms do produce spores.

They produce two types of spores:

Microspores or pollen grain (male

gamete).

Megaspore or embryo sac which

have egg cell.

Now to answer second part of your question....

They produce spores in order to reproduce or continue their species...
