Active Voice refers to a sentence in which the subject is performing the action.

Passive Voice refers to a sentence in which the subject undergoes the action. In other words, it is writing the sentence in reverse order.

Example: Dan is painting the entire house. (Active)

The entire house is being painted by Dan. (Passive)

NOTE: Sentences that convey habitual actions cannot be changed to passive mode.

Have you done the sum? (Active)

Has the sum been done by you? (Passive)
