2. Those at the bottom of the society have very little to depend upon. There incomes have been declining. Sometime they find it difficult to meet their basic needs, such as food, clothing, house, education and health.
3. The poor constitute a large proportion of our voters and no party will like to lose their vote. Yet democratically elected governments do not appear to be as keen to address the question of poverty as we would expect them to.
No! I don't think that democracies advance to an impartial allocation of goods and opportunities. The following are the reasons in support of the given opinion:
1. Even though political equality is protected by the constitution, there is an increase in economic imbalance. This situation widened the gap between the rich and the poor; as the rich people becoming richer and the poor people are growing poorer.
2. The level of income for the people living at the bottom is continuously declining; causing difficulties for these people to meet their basic amenities such as house, food, education and access to good healthcare centers.
3. Even though the rich people in the society are in minority and a major part of voters include the poor section of society, the poor have to suffer from a number of problems, which the state never arrives to approach.
