HI friend,
Actually freshwater fishes don't drink water they absorb water through gills .But the salt water fishes drink water and their gills do take the salt out from the water. so a fish cant be thirsty.

The freshwater fishes do not drink water they simply absorb water with the help of their skin.
Salt water fishes drink salty water. The water is processed by the gills and the salt is removed from the water . So a fish cannot be thirsty
