You can see the answer over here :-

Q 1.A 4 ohm resistance wire is doubled on it calculate the new resistance of the wire?

Ans.We consider wire is doubted on it means to fold the length of wire. It means it's length will get half and area of cross section will get doubled.

∴Let the resistance of wire originally 'R' of length 'L' and area of cross-section 'A' with Resistivity of material is 'p',

Then,

R = p l/A = 4Ω

Now, for new arrangement,

p' = p

l' = l / 2

A' = 2A

Thus,

R' = p' l'/A' = p (l /2) ÷ 2A = !/4 (p l / A) = 1/4R = 1/4 × 4 = 1Ω.

Q 2.When a potential difference of 2v is applied across a end of a wire of 5m length, a current of 1A is found to flow it. Calculate

1. resistance per unit length?

2. resistance of 2m unit length?

3. resistance across ends of the wire if is doubled on itself.?

Ans.Given that the voltage across the wire is 2V and current flowing through it is 1A

Using Ohm's law,

R=V/I

R=2/1=2Ω

Length of conducting wire is given as 5m

Resistance per unit length = R/L

Substituting the given values,
