Sum of digits at odd places = 4 + 1 + x + 8 = 13 + x
Sum of digits at even places = 9 + 6 + 6 = 21
Their difference = 13 + x – 21 = x – 8
Now x – 8 = 0, 11, 22, .................
⇒ x = 8, 19, 30,
Since x is a digit x=8.
