Test for the Following ions in water sources are:

Explanation:

Halides: Halides like bromide and iodide are often found in common water sources. These halides are found to be harmful to the human body. There are various techniques to remove these bromides and iodides from the water like electrodialysis and reverse osmosis.

Sulphates: Sulphate is one of the most common components of water, especially when its rainwater. Sulphates find their origin in substances like the sulfite ores etc. Higher then 500 mg of sulphates in water can lead to ailments like diarrhoea.

Carbonates and pH: Carbonates and bicarbonates can be seen in water. These can be calculated by analysing pH and alkalinity. Analysing the relationship between these two components gives the amount of carbonates and bicarbonates present.
