Given: (1) 4x+6=8

(i) 4x - 5y = 9

(iv) xy + yz + zx = 11 (v) 3x + 2y - 6=0

(vii) 7p +6q+13s = 11

(iii) 5x2 + 6xy - 4y2 = 16

(vi) 3= 2x + y

To Find :  Identify linear equations

Solution:

Degree of any linear equation is 1.

4x+6=8

=> 4x = 2

This is a linear equation in one variable

4x - 5y = 9

This is a linear equation in two variable

xy + yz + zx = 11

xy  hence degree 2

so This is not linear equation

3x + 2y - 6=0

This is a linear equation in two variable

7p +6q+13s = 11

This is a linear equation in 3 variables

5x²+ 6xy - 4y² = 16

degree 2

so This is not linear equation

3= 2x + y

This is a linear equation in two variable
