Vietnam got independence from French in 1950 but that time Vietnam was divided into North and South but South people were not happy by the South rule so they wanted to Merger with North Vietnam America felt that if this happens Vietnam will become strongest so that's why America sent military force to the Vietnam American soldiers relatives and parents aren't happy with this because children were dying umnessesarily....so that's why American population protested against the involvement
