yass.coz he did not feel how the animals could have been felt depressed sad when the one of the family member is missing .....this was a play of god to show him that what he had done is wrong

....so there must be a open choice in his mind that he had done something wrong so he was very adament is showing his love where as her daughter thaught of to show her behaviour just like the animals
