 corporal Turnbull was giving the explanation of the grenade. corporal turnbull sais that it is divided up in to  a  large number of fragements. when the lecture was going on professor again interrupted and corrected him publically. then corporal asked him to deliver the lecture. after finishing the corporal said platoon officer had asked him to nominate one of them for permanent cookhouse duties. he fixed professor for the duties.
      no, private quelch did not learn any lesson. even in the kitchen he continued with his interruptions and sermons. the author and his friends heard him protesting against the unscientific way of peeling potatoes. which was a waste of vitamin values.
