do you believe there is bias among the media in its coverage of recent mass shootings (schools/Las Vegas) versus the way police interact with black/minorities?

Thank you for this very important and interesting question.

Racism has been a part of the American society for ages; discrimination on the bases of colour has been a part of the American society.

In this case, the same issue occurs when it comes to news coverage of mass shootings and interaction of police with the black Americans.

Talking of mass shootings, most attackers are white skinned and young men who are either referred in media as "lone wolves" or psychologically challenged. It can be said that they gain a favour on the basis of the colour of their skin.

When it comes to the attitude of the American police officers with the black citizens usually goes unnoticed on the news channels and they are got given enough coverage. They are even declared thiefs, muggers etc merely on the basis of the skin colour.

Hence, it is correct that media is biased in their coverage of different issues.

Explanation:

Apartheid is a system of indiscrimination that was followed by the colonial govt with the blacks and the coloured people of South Africa.

Under this system coloured people (included black ones also) were not allowed to use the place which were used by the whites like school, beaches and parks.

If someone was found not following these rules were severely punished.

A. N. C (African national Congress)

under leadership of Nelson Mandela fight against this unjustics for equality.

After the success of revolt the formation of new govt took place which was democratic this time and in which people of all culture, colour and class were allowed.
