Hard water, which is high in calcium and/or magnesium, is usually more alkaline than soft water. So, it has a pH greater than 8.

Answer:

Hard water is either neutral ( pH 7.0 ) alkaline ( more than pH 7.0 value )

Soft water is acidic, hard water is alkaline.
