It was full of humour at many points. It ruin over the pride of narrator over packing. Narrator thought that he would supervise the work of packing but ironically all the work was left on him. Not only, he had to do the whole packing but his friends keep on irritating him at times. After that , when it came to George and Harris to pack hampers they made a non sense scene, they smash things and created a big mess just for a piece of butter. Then, montmorency came there to add some more humour he annoyed George and Harris, he put his nose wherever they tried to pick up things and pretend lemon as rats .
Answer:
Yes, the packing story is funny. It has a lot of humorous elements in it. Montmorency is a funny character. The author says that the highest ambition of his life is to cause nuisance and be sworn at. And also, Montmorency pretended that lemons were rats and killed 4 before Harris could land a frying pan on Montmorency's head. The dog just adds chaos to the already chaotic scene. And what George and Harris do with the butter is another hilarious scene. First one of them trods on the butter then they try putting it in the teapot but find Montmorency in it so they keep the butter on a chair and someone sits on the chair. George and Harris both of them search for the butter round and round the room. They finally find it and pack it. Also at the end of the story, the author and Harris find George asleep so they place a bath so that George can tumble in it when he wakes up.
