People living in slums face a lot of problems in everyday life. I have a friend living in a slum and I had a conversation with him he told about all the difficulties he faced there. Following are some of the problems people living there face:

Child Labor: People living in slums are financially unstable and they have to make their children work in order to afford living and survival.  Crowded: They have really small houses, or I would call just a room where 10-12 people are living together. Water Problems: In slum areas, there is a scarcity of water, the water supply comes only once a day and only for few hours. Uncleanliness of Water: There is no access to clean water there which is the reason for the health problems in the slum areas. No Women Safety: The girls and women living in slum areas are not very safe as they are not secure they get easily kidnapped or people take advantage of them and there is no one to take a report of such things.

This is heartbreaking to see someone living in such an area, about half a million people live in such conditions and the reason behind this is the increasing urbanization in developing countries which is putting pressure on the people living in the slum areas they have moved to bigger cities but they do not have much to afford.

The government can provide housing to the low-income earners and install ways with which they can have access to better education and water systems. And the people living in the slum areas also have to work hard in order to pay a certain amount for living in better conditions. For this Government and the people living in slum areas should be on the same page in order to have access to a better living standard.
