⊙ On 9th August 2018 severe floods affected the south Indian state of Kerala due to unusal high rainfall during the monsoon season.



⊙ Nearly 483 people died , and 14 missed. About many people were evacuated and few places in vypin island and palakkadd.



⊙ According to the Kerala government one sixth of the total population of Kerala has been directly affected by floods.


⊙ The Indian government has declared it as level 3 calamity and was very devastorous.



⊙ It is the worst flood after the great flood of 99 that happend in 1924.


⊙ 34 out of 35 dams were opened in the city for the first time in history due to this flood.
