In the chapter The Thief’s story’ Anil’s way of handling the thief Hari is effective.

He handles Hari differently than most other people do. People complain against thieves, have thieves arrested, but even after that the thieves do not stop stealing.

 Anil, on the other hand, tried to wake Hari’s conscience and gave him lessons in a hope to make Hari realize his mistake.

Yes, l do feel Anil's way of handling the thief like Hari was effective because as Hari was a young teenager,he don't have any family to guide him.so, to complete his deeds and for excitement he had become thief. If Anil wouldn't have handle him with claim and silently , then Hari would have get more involved in stealing and other bad things,so Anil's way of handling is more effective
