Do you think casteism is a challenge to Indian Democracy?
Answers
We do have lot of democratic challenges in India including
Unstable Governments:
when 3 or more parties go for elections it is very likely no one will get absolute majority which leads to coalition governments. By nature coalition governments are not stable due to individual agenda of parties.
Where as if we change constitution for presidential democracy system, PM and CM will be elected directly by the people.
2. Curruption: Deep rooted curruption is due to our existing democratic system as the candidate has to spend to get ticket and to win the election. Further he has to earn money to win again and again. Money making opportunities are exploited everyday from the society
3. Undying casteism: current democratic system allows the politicians to divide the people in caste basis and keep it alive forever.
4. Dynasty rule: one or two families only can rule forever as existing system does not limit the terms. New talent can never come into system. Only children of existing politicians can enjoy power .
5. Criminal background: existing democratic system allows criminals and anti social candidates
6. Caste and cash only get seats
7. One of the main challenges of current democratic system is that it cannot attract wisemen to participate in democratic process
We believe all above issues can be addressed by welcoming change into presidential democracy in India
