Yes, the classification of economic activities into primary,secondary and tertiary sector is useful

because of the following reasons :-

• It helps us to know about what are the share of each sector in GDP in our country
• It helps us to know how many workers are employed or working in primary, secondary and tertiary sector.
• It tells us that which sector is gaining more importance.
• Secondary sector is gradually becoming most important in total production and employment.
• But there is shift taken place The service sector has become the most important in terms of total production.
