I think that women are constantly harassed, abused, coerced, and assaulted by man and as a result, many women just opt out of dealing with men and have high standards for them when they do.

What would you do if every time you went on a dating app for example, you had men calling you horrible names if you don’t respond exactly as they want, sending you unsolicited pictures of their dicks, etc. If men started catcalling you and groping you from the time you even had a hint of entering puberty? If most interactions with men were negative ones? Wouldn’t you “give them a hard time”?

In general, women still have it far, far worse than men when it comes to dating. Too often, they will just suffer through in order to have a relationship. The number of women who have exclaimed how amazing I am when I treat them with basic human decency in a relationship is astounding. The bar is set so incredibly low.

No, this isn’t all men, but we aren’t talking about men right now. We’re talking about the experience that women have with men throughout their lives. These are basically universal experiences for women. They’re constantly told to be on their guard or they’ll get raped. Women are assaulted, drugged, beaten, raped, and worse, often by their romantic partners.

So what should women be doing? Dating is risky for them.

And of course men response by whining about how dating is just sooooo hard for them now.

Answer:

  • However pretty frankly, I virtually do not suppose that many ladies these days are challenging men *enough* in courtship! If they have been, for one component, I do not suppose “hookup culture" could exist -- or at the least, it would not have emerged as almost as general as its miles.
  • Generally speaking, “hookup culture" seems to gain guys extra than ladies -- mainly because the extra sexual companions a female has had in her life, the much more likely it's miles that human beings (mainly guys) will decide her negatively for it. There could be no such component as “slut shaming" if this has been now no longer true.
  • It's now no longer a twist of fate that there truly isn't always a period for guys which includes pretty the equal degree of the pejorative connotation that the word “slut" or “tramp" does for ladies. (It's additionally now no longer a twist of fate that a few human beings say one definition of the word “slut" is a female with an equal sexual mindset and conduct and ethics because the common man…)
  • Before the sexual revolution, a younger female's relatives -- however mainly the males! - have been anticipated to influence her away (lightly or otherwise) from any younger guys who for one purpose or some other have appeared as now no longer being accurate husband material.
  • The motives for retaining those guys at a distance are numerous widely -- abusive temperament, alcohol dependency, monetary instability, etc. Unfortunately, whilst ladies accomplished more freedom, they regularly not noted to take at the obligations that necessarily include more freedom and failed to steer clear of guys who manifestly do not make accurate possibilities as husbands or fathers or maybe absolutely long-time period romantic companions.
  • All too regularly, ladies have allowed their preference for a long-time period relationship (marital or otherwise) to override their accurate experience to their detriment. I'm now no longer pronouncing that there are not ladies obtainable who fall quick of the mark as other halves or moms or girlfriends -- however love it or now no longer, withinside the animal kingdom, the truth stays that it is generally the female's prerogative and *now no longer* the male's to determine whether or not or now no longer any unique male might be allowed to mate due to the consequences for the offspring.
