The Portrait of a Lady is a short story written by Khushwant Singh in which he has shown the beautiful relationship of a grandmother with her grandchild.
He has exhibited the strength and the care a grandchild receives from grandparents and how important they are for children while kids are growing up and vice versa.
Old age brings loneliness and a struggle within to feel belonged.
Our old age parents should be taken care of not only physically but also emotionally.
They, after having given their life for children, need emotional security in their old age else they live a life of misery and are invariably pushed towards death, as they lose hope and charm.
