The feeling of power works like an intoxitant on people which makes them proud, fearless and arrogant. They feel that they can get almost anything.
I feel it outrageous to see people killing the innocent animals just to satisfy their egoes or habits. It should be outlawed.
Over the past few years, many distinct and beautiful species have extincted (For example, tasmanian tiger, dodo, passenger pigeon and many more..), just because people hunt them for their special body parts (i.e, tusks, fur, etc).
This not only disturbs the environmental balance but also manipulates wildlife.
Just like humans those powerless animals are also living. They feel pain when someone slaughter them or injure them.
Imagine yourself in place of those animals. Will you feel good if somebody injures you, tortures you or ultimately kills you?
Nowadays hunting those innocent and powerless animals have became a "sport/game" for people/hunters; for which they recieve trophies and honour. Do that make them distinct from a killer?
When a person kills a human, he/she becomes a 'murderer'. Heavy laws and punishment are being imposed against him/her, so that it may deter others and prevent them from doing such crimes. So, why there are no such 'strict' laws for animals?
Living in 21st century, hunting is no longer necessary to provide us food,clothing or tools. We have grocery stores to get vegetables for our survival; so, why do we need to kill the harmless animals just to get their meat?
Looking at the increasing level of animal abuse, this won't suprise me that after few decades even the common species get extincted.
To prevent this missuse if power there is a need for a proper system to ensure accountability, with effective checks and balances. Strict laws should be undertaken against people doing animal abuse.
People should not exercise power without fear and favour.
