.

The title of the story –‘Patol Babu, Film Star’ is aptly appropriate as Patol Babu is the protagonist and is omnipresent throughout the story. The climax of the story is the shooting scene in which he is to play an insignificant role of a pedestrian. He prepares and performs the scene with the perfection and élan of a real film star. Even the actual film-stars don’t pay such minute attention to the nuances of acting as he does. Besides, the writer, Satyajit Ray must have given due consideration to it before deciding it. he must have thought other titles as well and must have chosen the best and most fitting one. Hence the title is perfect.
