Monuments give vitality to our past. Yet, they are not as clean as they should be. the deterioration in the quality of our monuments can be:
- Natural causes:
The monuments of our country may be exacerbated by natural causes like natural weathering and disasters.
- Man-made causes:
this is the more common deterioration method. it is characterized by human activities like visitors writing and spitting on monuments, vandalism, wars, pollution, etc.
Deterioration by Man-made causes can be controlled in the following ways:
- creating an appropriate legal framework to protect monuments on a national and international scale. strict adherence to the law to preserve monuments.
- Protect the environment by keeping industries and other polluters at bay.
- Controlling riots, vandalism, and terrorist attacks on public landmarks.
- community education and awareness campaigns.
