Do you think the new reddish leaves of plants also carry out

The new reddish leaves of plants can also carry out photosynthesis. They also contain chlorophyll, but they are red in colour due to the relatively high concentration of accessory pigments, which help chlorophyll in gathering light energy more efficiently.
