Yes poet is certainly nostalgic about his childhood as he feels that his childhood has suddenly disappeared poet feels that his childhood has gone and makes conclusions about

Loss of his childhood searching for reasons describing how he became adult and what adults think about Children what they say and do and finally how he understood about his brain how can we use it to create some fantastic ideas or something like that and finally he gives a sensitive and suggestive poignant expression of the sense of loss of childhood Innocence in adulthood. Where he finds an infant with face unaware of world's problem still living happily the simplicity and depth in the poet's observation makes it highly poetic.

Hope it was up to mark..my first answer here☺
