yes, the postmaster is depicted as a representative of god as he managed to collect the money and sent it to him in order to keep Lencho's faith in god alive as he was helpless at that time. he made efforts to Lencho's prayer which were addressed to god. he even signed Lencho's letter on behalf of god so that his belief in god is not shaken.
