Do you think the present methodology of poverty estimation is appropriate?

No, I don't think the present methodology of poverty estimation is appropriate because:

• In India poverty is estimated based on income and consumption. There is a given level if the person or the household falls below that level then, it is counted under Below Poverty Level.
• This estimation is done by the Niti Ayog in India.
• In my opinion, poverty is estimated based on food, clothes, fuel, etc rather it should also be estimated based on market fluctuation and inflation.
