Women's education is still a hot topic in India because female literacy rate of India which is (65.46, according to the census of 2011) below the average female literacy rate of the world (79.7). So yes we need immediate measures for the women's education in India.
Efforts:
There is a need to create awareness about the social status of women in India and to work for their upliftment.
Social customs which were illegal by law such as dowry, female infanticide are still in practice in the country and better implementation to curb them is needed.
The government should make special policies for women's education and their implementation should be checked regularly.
