Consider a white ray that incidents on the left side glass slab of the hollow prism. Since the ray enters a denser medium, white light disperse inside the glass , and the dispersed rays fall on the parallel glass surface. There is displacement of rays without deviation. Inside the hollow prism , red ray which is displaced without deviation , is parallel to the incident white ray , but displaced a little. Violet is parallel to red but is below the red. The three words , displacement, dispersion, and deviation are important and one should understand these to trace the path inside hollow prism.

After this the figure explains the path.

Note that if we place a mirror perpendicular to the emergent rays , the rays should retrace their path.

HOPE IT HELPS PLEASE MARK AS THE BRAINLIEST ;-)
