Answer:

As you grow older, your pulse rate is about the same as before. But when you exercise, it may take longer for your pulse to increase and longer for it to slow down afterward. Your highest heart rate with exercise is also lower than it was when you were younger. Breathing rate usually does not change with age.

The most consistently reported mechanism contributing to the decrease in aerobic exercise capacity with aging is a reduction in maximal heart rate (HRmax) (17, 26, 30). This progressive decline in HRmax with age is independent of sex, habitual physical activity, and other factors (26, 30)

Answer:-

  • A. Your resting heart rate — the number of times your heart beats per minute while your body is relaxed and at rest — does not change significantly with age.
  • You can calculate your maximum heart rate by subtracting your age from 220. For example, if you're 45 years old, subtract 45 from 220 to get a maximum heart rate of 175. This is the average maximum number of times your heart should beat per minute during exercise.
