Does anyone know what is a cyanide(in easy language)? I have heard that if we eat Mentos before or after drinking Coke or Pepsi, then we die immediately as the solution is converted into cyanide that kills the person. Is it real?

Cyanide is  the compound CN with a negative charge on it.  There are many cyanide compounds  like  sodium cyanide  Na CN.  They have toxic effect on humans and animals.  They are poisonous.

Mentos contains menthol - organic compounds.  Menthol is good and medicinally used as a  decongestant and excess pure menthol is toxic, it seems.

Pepsi or similar beverages contain Carbon dioxide and menthol mixed with that result in  CO2 gas coming out of the beverage.  That causes some gas problem in stomach.  I suppose there is no danger to the person.

In western countries people eat a lot of menthol - mentos.  They also drink a lot of coke.  I suppose it is not fatal.
