In the process of blod clotting calcium ions together with enzyme thrombokinase converts plasma protein prothrombin (formed by liver) into enzyme thrombin which then converts soluble fibrinogen (formed by liver) to insoluble fibrin (mesh like appearance and platelets get entangled at to form theblood clo t).
