The acceleration due to gravity on the moon is about 1/6th of its Earth counterpart. This results in a lower resultant force or weight.
If the scale was a spring or solid state type, it would in fact read about 1/6th of an objects Earth weight.
However, if the scale was a balance type, the kind that used to be used in the Doctor’s offices and sports weigh-ins back in the day, it is unaffected by gravity - that is both sides of the balance are affected the same weigh, so gravity differences cancel out. It would read the same on Earth as the Moon.
