In CS2 the valency of S is -2

because carbon has a valency of +4 and to balance it sulfur must have the valency of -2 which when multiplied by 2 will give -4 balancing it out.

In H2SO4 S has the valency of 6

Valency of Sulphur in Sulphuric acid is 6. So then you have +2 for H, +6 for S and -8 for the O.
