Does earth is a coductor of electricity

Earth is a good conductor. But to use earth as a conductor there are specific methods like earthing etc. In other words we can say that without moisture the earth acts as an insulator but with moisture it is a good conductor. It's conductivity depends upon soil resistivity which is different at different points.

 Earth does not conduct the electricity , it just absorbs the charge and neutralizes it.Earth has an electric potential of zero, since there is no charge. that is the reason behind it
