Does every conductor heat up when an electric current is passed through it? What does the amount of heat depend on? name the conductor normally used in heating appliances.

The amount of heat depends on the square of the current passing through it , resistance of the conductor and the time taken.

* nichrom is used normally in heating appliances ex: press. No every conductor doesn't heat up when current passes through it. the amount of heating of conductor is depend on resistance of the conductor. HOPE it helps you
